第八屆香港公開精英體育舞蹈錦標賽今年改在聖誕日舉行, 在賣檯(43張全部爆滿)及報名賽手(一百一十多對)兩方面都打破以往七屆紀錄, 不枉主人家陳航行及高玉文連日來廢寢忘餐趕練新舞, 更不枉陳航行暫將膝患置之不理堅持到表演後才治理。 當天比賽由下午二時至七時半, 頒獎後舞會隨即開始, 晚會高潮當然是陳航行及高玉文之表演, 表演之前, 陳航行先舉行英國ISTD証書頒發儀式, 頒給於十二月中考獲ISTD資歷的學生, 跟著表演開始, 他們先跳一隻富激情而浩氣的"狐步", 陳航行及高玉文更換拉丁舞衣時由"起舞藝軒"學生表演一隻排排舞, 好讓氣氛沒有泠卻, 最後他們再跳一隻包裝精奇的"拉丁表演舞", 觀眾們看得非常投入, 如痴如醉! 起舞藝軒主辦第一次聖誕日餐舞會完滿結束, 主人家已定了二零零七年第九屆精英錦標賽也是在聖誕日, 普天同慶! The 8th Best of Best 2006 was held for the first time on Christmas Day. Two records were broken – (i) 43 full tables were sold ; and (ii) over 110 couples were entered. The organizers Lawrence & Gertrude were more than happy that their strenuous & totally dedicated efforts in the practice and rehearsal of their new dance numbers were rewarded. Furthermore, Lawrence's persistence of finishing the show before he could take surgery of his knee problem, was also well compensated. In the afternoon, the competitions were run smoothly from 1400 hrs to 1930 hrs., followed by prize presentations and dinner party. The highlight of the evening came with the performance of Lawrence & Gertrude. They first danced an emotional and sensational Foxtrot. Whilst they changed to their Latin costume, Come Dancing Studio Academy students filled the atmosphere with their Line Dancing demonstration. It came the last performance of Lawrence & Gertrude with their Latin Showdance. The choreography, music & costume were all combined sophisticatedly. Audience were all mesmerized and touched!
