16th Best of Best HK Open DanceSport Championship & Christmas Party (BOB) on 25/12/14 continued to carry on its record-breaking power over the past few years as follows :
- Unprecedented Open Professional 10-Dance event in South East Asia
- Banquet for 43 full tables, exceeding the previous record of 42
- 1 Greek couple entered Open Professional Latin
- Christmas Eve organized a workshop by Russian Latin Champions & WDC AL Championships organizers in Russia Mr Vladislav Borodinov, couples & adjudicators from Malaysia, Greece, Russia & Hong Kong attended
- Pro-Am show by China Professional Standard Champion Andrew Wong& his student Wong Chau Heung
- 185 couples &107 Solo dancers
Ever since the organizers Lawrence & Gertrude stopped performing for BOB, they had been exhausting their efforts to try to arrange spectacular , colourful & meaningful competitions and shows with electric atmosphere in the evening. For 13th & 14th BOB : Open Amateur 10-Dance were first introduced in South East Asia ; for 15th BOB : M & M Latin & WDC AL City Open Standard event were first introduced in Hong Kong. WDC World Professional Latin finalists 2013 - Manuel & Natalja were dancing as a treat to the knowledgeable guests.
16 BOB was contested in 84 events from 1130 hrs , the most attractive of which had to be last event in the afternoon session - Open Professional Standard Final. Three couples - Wu Hao & Ding Nan (China), Christian de Cillis & Kamila Brozovska (Italy) and Marco Spadafora & Edvige Maria (Italy) challenged to the top spot with contrasting styles. Afternoon session & prize presentation finished at 1930 hrs.
HK Style Dinner Party started at 1945 hrs. Honour Dances of Open Amateur Standard (Stanislav Poetanenko & Nataliya Kolaya from Ukraine) and Open Professional Latin Champions (Vanderlely HinLon & Zhao ShanShan from HK) were 1st part of evening programme at 2015 hrs. 2nd part of programme started at 2130 hrs - Pro-Am show by Andrew & Chau Heung ; Open Amateur Latin Final with one HK couple against the couples from Taiwan & Malaysia ; Open Professional 10-Dance Standard Session Final comprising with HK, Thailand & Korea couples ; Honour Dance of Open Professional Standard Champions Marco & Edvidge ; Presentations of both Finals saw HK couples took both champions, their Honour Dances concluded the evening programme.
BOB had become a landmark DanceSport Championships & Christmas Party in Hong Kong, special & unique on Christmas Day and also one & only event in the venue of Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre (KITEC). Lawrence & Gertrude promise BOB on Christmas Day at KITEC will never change !
