To clash with two competitions and two dinner parties on the same day, yet recorded the best ever number of entries in ISTD Cup history – 125 couples, 92 Solo dancers and 20 full dinner tables, my wife & I do not know how to express our appreciations to those who support us over the years to get across all the hurdles!
Among the 23 Adult couple events, 6 Open Junior couple events, one Studio Junior event, 2 Adult Solo Events, 9 Open Junior Solo events and 3 Studio Junior Solo events, the highest number of entries was Open Solo Under 10 C/J – 39 juvenile dancers fight for 6 Final Places ; whilst the least entries of two couples seen in the Hong Kong Professional Latin, the event no other competition in Hong Kong can successfully hold in recent years .
International adjudicator panel consisted of two Taiwanese, one Japanese, one Indonesians, five Chinese and 13 Hong Kong elite professionals worked from 1215 hrs until 1900 hrs. Mixed 5-Dance Standard and Open Professional Latin cross-over Finals were arranged in the evening. Open Professional Standard & Latin Champions from Ukraine and China were invited to perform the Honour Dances after the two Finals.
Although at 10th ISTD Cup I had announced the cancellation of my
Birthday Celebration from this year’s 11th ISTD Cup, many students of mine still came to say Happy Birthday to me. I was so moved to have to take a memorable photo with all who came to support me & my wife in the evening of 13th April 14 – to witness the very last ISTD Cup dinner party in Hong Kong!
