2nd HK BDFI Cup 2013 in BANGKOK!
Being the new President of the Hong Kong Ballroom Dancers International (HKBDI) (www.hkbdi.com), I moved a brave step by organizing the 2nd HKBDFI Cup in Bangkok, Thailand on 3rd February 2013.
The competitions started at 1100 hrs with couples coming from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Italy, India, China, Japan and Thailand. The afternoon highest events, Rising Stars Amateur Standard & Rising Star Amateur Latin were dominated by Thailand and Hong Kong couples respectively. The only M2M Latin entry from Thailand became the crowd's favorite in the afternoon session.
The HKBDI 2012 All Year Rounds Champions (for different categories) Prize Presentations were unprecedently held in the evening Dinner Party. Four (out of the nine eligible) Award Winning couples flew all the way from Hong Kong to receive their Awards in Thailand! The promotion highlight of 2nd HKBDFI Cup was the first time ever four Nations' Invitational Professional & Amateur Team Match in Asia. All four team leaders – Uapan Snidvongs (Thailand), Aleena Tan (Singapore), Richard Kang (Malaysia) & myself (Hong Kong) had rehearsed an Opening Number to please the guests of the Dinner Party.
Immediate after the event, I was requested to run another event in Bangkok as soon as possible ! I started to contemplate the dilemma of whether 3rd HK BDFI Cup to be held in Hong Kong or Bangkok !
