8/4/12
第九屆ISTD盃標準舞冠軍賽
9th ISTD Cup Ballroom Dance Championships

With a view to synchronizing my Birthday Party, the ISTD Cup was for the first time held in Easter Holidays ! The fact that it was clashed with another competition in Queen Elizabeth Stadium allowed me to learn the underneath spectrum of human morality & loyalty ! Blessing from God that utmost of my students who were available on 8th April 12 came to support me.

Over 90 couples, 60 Solos & 3 Teams entered 9th ISTD Cup, which meant I had to start competitions one hour earlier than last year.

Open Professional Latin & Open Professional Standard were easily won by Chinese couples. Most encouraging and delightful was in Open Amateur Latin event, two couples of mine occupied the champion spots in the Prize Podium, forcing two Chinese couples into 3rd and 4th Place. To inject something new in the evening dinner party, I requested my most supportive student Jennifer to perform an Indian Dance for me as I knew she was most competent and enthusiastic in Indian Dance. She promised me without any hesitation and ask her Indian Dance teacher to design a Jazz type Indian Dance for them to perform as a couple. Jennifer came up in her mind a special dancing idea (as always!) that she suggested me to precede the dance with some Paso Doble pattern so as to initiate her dance. It was most refreshing and spectacular that the audience were totally immersed with this innovative idea!
