13th Best of Best created surprises and unexpected outcome on the 2011 Christmas Day : –
(i) overloaded competitors, especially in Standard events, provided a record of 11 Quarter-Finals (inclusive of Open Professional Standard, Open Amateur Standard & Hong Kong Amateur Standard) ;
(ii) couples came from Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur、Sabah、Sarawak),Thailand, Brunei, Taiwan, Korea, Italy, England, Macau, China and host Hong Kong ;
(iii) The Amateur 10-Dance event was held at 1st Best of Best 12 years ago with only two entries. The rejuvenated Open Amateur 10-Dance Event 2011 attracted 8 young talented couples from Korea, Malaysia & Hong Kong. Latin Session which was taken place in the evening X'Mas Dinner Party held the guests spellbound ;
(iv) a brand new Professional Rising Star Latin event saw another young couple who turned Pro on the X'Mas Day to take the title home ;
(v) Electric atmosphere were surrounding the Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre when Open Professional Latin & Open Professional Standard Champions who took their prizes in afternoon session were arranged to perform their Honour Dances with the Open Amateur 10-Dance Champions in the evening ;
(vi) at last but definitely not least, a historical milestone was set up on the night when the inauguration ceremony of the budding Hong Kong Ballroom Dancers International (HKBDI) was in progress. All HKBDI committee members danced with their partner one minute of their own choices – a process which had never been practiced before.
