The 8th ISTD Cup Ballroom Dance Championships & Birthday Party meant a lot to me as it was 1st Ranking Event of the newly established Hong Kong Ballroom Dancers International (HKBDI). Touches of sensational moments were witnessed on the day :
(i) The new-born HKBDI committee members met for the first time at a warm photo-shooting occasion ;
(ii) Being in the most difficult moment of organizing DanceSport competitions in Hong Kong, and to promote the world-wide prevalent topic of "Freedom to Dance", I was overwhelmingly happy to report the best entries of couples (116 couples) and sold-out of dinner tickets (25 Tables) in ISTD Cup's history ;
(iii) On top of quantity, the quality was exceptional rocketing this year, with two high-rising Professional couples in recent International Forum took the Champions' spots for Open Professional Standard and Open Professional Latin events. They entered the ISTD Cup, not for the trivial prize money but their trust & admirations to the brand modules of my competitions. Their spiritual and fantastic honour dances were a special treat for the supportive & knowledgeable guests as well as Birthday gifts to me ;
(iv) Gertrude & I unprecedentedly presented flowers to two of my couples, one of them competed for the last time as Amateur, the other one danced their first Professional event on that day. Both couples had been trained by me to take ISTD Professional Examinations.

第八屆ISTD盃標準舞冠軍賽暨生日會對我來說意義重大, 因她是新成立的 "香港國際標準舞者會"的第一場計分賽, 當天充滿感人場面 :
(i) 香港國際標準舞者會執委成員第一次聚首亮相, 溫馨合照 ;
(ii) 際此主辦體育舞蹈比賽最艱難的時期, 同時要推行世界舞圈新口號 "Freedom to Dance" , 竟能打破以往ISTD盃的參賽選手(116對)及餐券(25枱)紀錄, 令我欣慰莫名 ;
(iii) 除了量之外, 參賽選手質素也令人眼前一亮, 兩對公開職業冠軍, 都是近期冒升的前列高手, 雖然獎金普通, 他們毅然報名, 都是他們對我所辦比賽的信服及 "俾面", 更且在晚上冠軍表演使出渾身解數, 令全場爆滿的嘉賓如癡如醉, 也為我送上一份珍貴的生日賀禮
(iv) 我和太太高玉文破天荒第一次獻花給兩對學生, 一對當天跳最後一場業餘賽, 下次將轉跳職業賽, 另一對則在當天第一次轉跳職業賽, 兩對都跟我訓練考獲ISTD職業試。
