Flashy Pushy - [Come Dancing Cup] had stepped into18th year. According to Hong Kong Laws, any citizen aged 18 is eligible for holding Adult Hong Kong Identity Card. Over the past 18 years, my wife Gertrude & I had been assuming the responsiblities of parents to nurture this Baby. Today, our baby has grown up and has her reputation from South East Asia to across the World - Dance News, the World's most authoritative DanceSport newspaper had published the reports of 16th & 17th Come Dancing Cup. This year, Come Dancing Cup turned over a new leaf by moving the Open Professional Standard Final into the evening as the prime high-light of the whole event. Semi-Finalists and Quarter-Finalists of 2010 Blackpool Open Professional Standard were among the star list of couples. Unexpectedly, Open Professional Latin event also attracted the entry of 2010 United Kingdom Open Professsional Latin Semi-Finalist ! As the Executive President of the Hong Kong Internaional Professional Dance Sports Council, I was over delighted to be able to organize at 18th Come Dancing Cup the Ranking Closed Hong Kong Professional Latin event for the first time in the history of our Council. In setting the hallmark of maintaining the Justice, Openness and Fairness, 11 overseas adjudicators from nine different countries were employed for this historical event. To set up this tradition in the coming Come Dancing Cup will be my next goal!
As usaul, there were couples from Finland, Australia, Italy, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Macau, China. Both Champions in Latin and Ballroom presented their Honour Dances in the evening whereas I danced a Cha Cha Cha with my student Jennifer Lee (ever since Jennifer started performing with me in 2000, it was the first time we interpreted the Cheeky Cha Cha Cha!)

眨眼間 "起舞盃"已進入第十八屆, 根據香港法例十八歲便可領取成人香港身分證, 十八年來我和太太高玉文恍似父母一樣盡心盡力, 撫養這個孩子, 今天 "起舞盃" 已嶄露頭角, 在東南亞甚至世界舞圈都廣為人知, 世界最權威的跳舞報章 Dance News在2008及2009年都有報導第十六及十七屆起舞盃, 今屆"起舞盃" 轉轉口味, 將公開超級職業標準舞組放在晚上作重頭戲, 吸引到今屆黑池公開職業標準舞前十二及前廿四的高手參賽, 萬不料公開職業拉丁也吸引到今屆大英錦標賽公開職業拉丁前十二選手落場競逐 ! 另外身為香港國際專業舞蹈體育總會的執行會長, 我特別興奮能夠在今屆起舞盃首次成功主辦香港本土職業拉丁舞計分賽, 為求公平、公開、公正, 我邀請到十一位來自九個國家的非本土裁判評審第十八屆起舞盃的港澳職業拉丁舞組及港澳職業標準舞組, 我希望往後的起舞盃都能做到 !
海外參賽選手跟往年差不多, 分別內自芬蘭、澳洲、意大利、韓國、星加坡、馬來西亞、菲律賓、泰國、台灣、印尼、澳門、中國等地, 表演方面除了有公開職業拉丁舞及標準舞的冠軍表演之外, 我亦與學生Jennifer Lee表演了一隻Cha Cha Cha ( Jennifer 自2000年開始跟我表演, 但表演Cha Cha Cha還是第一次) !
