第26屆起舞盃 26th Come Dancing Cup
To avoid clashing with Japan World Super Star, WDSF German Open, China Blackpool, 26th Come Dancing Cup was moved to last Saturday of August 2018 (Convention Hall, HK Convention & Exhibition Centre, the Most Glamorous Dancing Venue in HK was unavailable for last Sunday !) . Unfortunately, the date of 25th August 2018 clashed with three championships in Malaysia, Taiwan & Singapore respectively ! Luckily, turnout of couple entries were similar to 2018 with 30 Solo dancers exceeded in 2018.
I was happy to be recognized as a Freedom to Dance (FTD) International Ambassador for Hong Kong by Richard Gleave OBE &Anne Gleave. The 26th Come Dancing Cup became Freedom to Dance International Hong Kong having stepped into its 2nd cycle of 25 years. The only rule of FTD : “No adjudicator or competitor should be banned from dancing or judging the competition” exactly paralleled to the theme of Hong Kong Ballroom Dancers International, the Association presided by me over the past 7 years.
I had to thank all adjudicators and competitors from Philippines (4 adjudicators, 24 couples & 5 Solo dancers), Australia, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, England, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Taiwan to make Come Dancing Cup another success. I would like to take this opportunity to announce – (i) 27th Come Dancing Cup will be held on 1st September 2019 , (ii) Pro-Am events in 2019 will have prize money, (iii) a new series of FTD competitions will be initiated in 2019.
