9th Best of Best HK Open DanceSport Championships resembled last year, once again produced a sparkling & delightful Christmas Day in Hong Kong Dancing Circle. Several major break-through were witnessed in the Championships on 25/12/07 : 1) nearly 150 couples were entered, which broke the previous eight years' records ; 2) with extra-ordinary fortune that two "Big Head" from two World-Renowned Teachers Associations in England –Mr David Roberts , Chief Secretary of United Kingdom Alliance (UKA) and Mr Richard Hunt, Vice-President of Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), were acting as Chairman & Vice-Chairman of Adjudicators ; 3) Mr Graham Crookes, Vice-President of UKA was un-precedently invited to be the Scrutineer ; 4) couples from Lithuania and Finland competed in this event ; 5) Line Dancing competition was included. Other than the above two UK adjudicators, eight overseas adjudicators plus 19 local judges had put down their pens to produce 27 categories of Champions.
Lawrence & Gertrude have been performing for the Best of Best Championships for nine consecutive years. They always feel sorry for the audience who have been supporting them over the years because every year they put their priorities in organizing the competitions and neglected their practice of performing dances. This year, they made a promise that the 10th Anniversary of Best of Best in coming year will see their performance best forever!
第九屆香港公開精英體育舞蹈錦標賽跟去年一樣, 再次為香港舞圈發放一個燦爛奪目的聖誕日, 25/12/07的比賽有多個突破 : 一) 報名隊伍接近一百五十, 破了精英錦標賽過往八屆的紀錄 ; 二) 天大面子邀請到英國兩大教師協會 - United Kingdom Alliance ("UKA") 及 Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing ("ISTD"), 的主腦人物 - Mr David Roberts (UKA總書記) 及 Mr Richard Hunt (ISTD副會長) 担任是次比賽主席及副主席裁判 ; 三) 破天荒邀請到UKA副會長Mr Graham Croores 担任電腦計分員 ; 四) 首次有來自立陶宛及芬蘭的賽手參加 ; 五) 首次主辦排排舞比賽。 除了兩位來自英國的裁判之外, 其餘八位海外裁判包括泰國, 星加坡, 馬來西亞, 韓國, 澳門及中國, 加上19位香港裁判, 產生了27組的冠軍。
陳航行、高玉文已連續第九屆担任精英錦標賽表演嘉賓, 但他們每年都感到對不起捧場的觀眾, 因為每次他們都為了籌備比賽而忽略了練舞, 未能全心全意地投入表演, 所以他們今次向觀眾作出承諾, 明年十週年精英錦標賽一定要表現得最好!
