Lawrence Chan organized, for the first time Over-the-Sea in Thailand, the 4th ISTD Cup Pro-Am Award Championships under the name of Come Dancing Studio Academy (Hong Kong) on 22nd September 2007 held in Summer Mansion Grand Hall, Bangkok..

A local Press Conference was fixed in the afternoon of 21st September at Summer Mansion to promote this Most Glamorous Dancing Event in Thailand .  In preparations for such propaganda exposure, Lawrence had to fly to Bangkok in the morning of 20th September.   He had arranged one Professional Standard couple (Luo San Ping & Anna Chan) and one Professional Latin couple (Wong Wai Hong & Hau Chau Mui) from Hong Kong to perform in the Press Conference. Unfortunately, Wong's Passport was expired and therefore he was not allowed to get on board in the morning of 21st September. Lawrence quickly reacted by writing a fax to Hong Kong Immigration Department from Bangkok, requesting for urgent special processing of Wong's Passport renewal.  Unbelievably & luckily, Wong had his Passport renewed in that afternoon and flew to Bangkok with another flight in that evening!  Although he missed the Press Conference, he managed to compete on 22nd September 2007.

On 22/9/07, there were 11 categories of Ballroom and Latin competitions, 9 of which were finished in the Afternoon Session.  Competitors came from China, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan & Thailand.  The most astonishing category in the Afternoon Session had to be the Rising Star Amateur Standard event.  20 couples took the Quarter Final.  The six couples who had to dance three rounds to make the Final were evenly distributed with 3 couples from Hong Kong and 3 couples from Thailand.    The 1st and 2nd Place were both grasped by Thailand couples who were in their own contrast dancing styles.  Both couples danced exceptionally well in front of their own cheering fans with the marks only differentiated marginally.  Ultimate edge went to the couple who was usually behind in previous occasions!  The same phenomenal situation happened to the 3rd Place & 5th Place Hong Kong couples!

Open Professional Standard and Open Professional Latin were danced in the Evening Dinner Party. The couples from China and Thailand who took these two titles were both the crowd's favourites. The 8-Person Orchestra had pushed the already boiling atmosphere even more electric. All the audience in the Afternoon Session and party guests in the Evening Session were totally involved in the competitions with active encouragements & participations. Clapping, Cheering, Whistling, etc are un-stoppable, which allowed all competitors dance beyond their normal abilities.

Lawrence had had the plan of organizing the 5th ISTD Cup on 20/9/08 in the same venue.  Nonetheless, the owner of Summer Mansion, Mr Chaipatanapong were so pleased with the unsurpassable successes of the 4th ISTD Cup.  He deliberately announced that another Championships was to be held on 5th April 2008 in addition to the 5th ISTD Cup, with Lawrence Chan being the appointed the organizer once again!
